I wouldn’t have mattered so much had it been a story, but it is someone’s personal DIARY.It’s like looking at a person through his mind knowing all the while what the end would be. The hopes, the dreams, the expectations all in vain, never to come true.
Reading it is actually a breach to her private Life. It’s only to know that she wanted it to be published that makes it somewhat comforting if not justifying.
At times I found myself wondering to be in the same place as her confined in a place for years, not knowing what the next moment would bring, living it with fear and even the thought of it was too over-bearing to hold for long. So, to know that a girl as young as 14 was actually living that Life, still going on with a positive spirit and hope is a true depiction of her indestructible spirit however young and trapped she may be.
The most important thing that struck me was the importance of freedom, how for granted we take it to be.Freedom to live, breathe and do as we please.
How exactly can you rate someone’s emotions and even if you do how can you not value someone’s feelings and supressions of such difficult times.
No-one actually has the right to rate or review this diary because to judge something you should be able to understand it and to truly understand it you have to live it in the same circumstances, going through the sane torture, because, without that it’s unimaginable how brutal and sad those circumstances actually were.
All we can do is to not be judgemental,to nurture empathy, lessen the hatred in our hearts, keep aside the feeling of being superior and if possible try to make this world a better place so that no one should have to go through such oppressive times ever again.
